About the shop
Ashmere began as a spare-room press and now occupies a single-bay workshop near the quay. Two people run the cases, the cutter, and the books. We buy paper from mills that still make cotton and wood-free sheets in modest lots.
The Windmill was rebuilt in 2019. We keep a short list of faces: Garamond, Caslon, and a condensed gothic for tickets. Larger commercial runs are declined; that work belongs on an offset floor.
Visiting
The workshop is not open to the public. Couriers use the side door marked with a brass plate. If you are collecting an order, bring the job number from your proof card.
